The Universal Waste Sales Specialist is responsible for driving sales and program adoption across WTG's national commercial accounts. This role focuses on promoting universal waste, e-waste, and other specialized recycling solutions while providing technical guidance and program support for commercial clients, including those in Rumpke territories.

Responsibilities of Position:
  • National Account Management:
    • Support WTG's national commercial accounts by identifying universal waste and e-waste opportunities, improving client programs, and providing targeted technical guidance
    • Develop and execute account-specific strategies to drive adoption of one-off or specialized recycling solutions
    • Serve as the primary WTG contact for universal waste-related initiatives within assigned accounts, coordinating with internal teams to deliver seamless service
  • Sales & Program Development:
    • Independently research industry trends and develop new program ideas for commercial clients
    • Collaborate with the National Sales Manager to identify growth opportunities and implement solution-based sales strategies
    • Provide training, workshops, and resources to client teams to enhance program effectiveness
  • Collaboration & Compliance:
    • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure programs comply with federal, state, and local universal waste regulations
    • Work across regions as needed to support commercial client needs within Rumpke territories
    • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, program results, and business development activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This position will not manage employees
Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:
  • Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to follow up on activities
  • Ability to present and communicate in a professional manner
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Must be organized and have good time management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and drive program adoption across diverse commercial clients
  • High degree of motivation, creativity, and persistence in developing and implementing new ideas and in finding solutions to problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience in sales, account management, or environmental programs considered
  • 3-5 years of experience in national or regional account management, preferably with exposure to universal waste, e-waste, or environmental service solutions required
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local recycling/universal waste regulations is a plus
Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:
  • Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50 lbs
  • Frequently sitting/standing/walking
Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
