Overview
This Inside Sales position is a permanent role designed as a developmental launchpad for high-performing individuals. Over the course of 18–24 months, you ll receive hands-on training and exposure to our sales strategy. Top performers are expected to transition into an Outside Sales role upon successful completion of this development track. This role will be responsible for generating new business and securing orders from assigned existing customers as well as potential new customers by receiving and placing telephone calls in order to achieve established sales targets.
- Generate and qualify high volume leads for the outside sales team.
- Establish and develop business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business e.g. for calcium carbonate and distribution product portfolios.
- Place telephone calls to existing and prospect customers which are predominantly routine calls, but may require deviation from standard screens, scripts, and procedures with the assistance of a computerized system; cold-calls and warm leads.
- Identify opportunities to sell current customers additional products from distribution product portfolio.
- Handle inbound sales inquiries and direct to outside representative as needed
- Document sales activities and opportunities in management reporting tools.
- Expand internal database of qualified prospects through various sources including trade organizations as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
BS in Business, Engineering or Science disciplines and 1 to 2 years of sales or marketing experience, or equivalent combination of experience, training and education. Strong interpersonal, verbal (also very good telephone manner) and written communication and presentation skills to persuade and influence others. Adept at negotiation and customer service and solid knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques. Good understanding of the industry preferred.
