Description:
United Dairy Farmers Store Manager is a Guest Services specialist. The primary responsibility is to ensure outstanding service to every guest by following the five phases of The Hi Five Guest Experience (Invited, Welcomed, Well-Served, Respected, Fulfilled), either personally or through associates. This includes both direct service to guests and maintaining excellent store conditions. The Store Manager ensures safe and efficient operation while complying with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
The manager must be legally qualified under state laws to conduct all sales transactions, including alcohol and tobacco sales.
- Directing Associates: monitor daily activities, administer counseling/recognition, coach the Hi Five Guest Experience, train associates, recommend promotions or separations, ensure adherence to policies and laws, investigate and resolve complaints.
- Store Staffing: recruit, interview, reference check, schedule, assign duties, and train associates individually and in groups.
- Financial Reporting: prepare and analyze operating results, deliver daily bank deposits, monitor competitors and recommend action.
- Inventory Control: maintain adequate stock, record sales and vendor transactions, analyze end‑of‑day reports, prepare special reports as requested.
- Overall Guest Services: provide signature UDF Hi Five Experience, greet guests, prepare demonstrations, ensure satisfaction.
- Dip Side Guest Services: prepare shakes/malts, cups, cones, sundae, sodas, and hand‑packed containers.
- Operation of POS and Gas Console: authorize/capture gas sales, process all transactions, handle money and coupons accurately.
- Stocking Merchandise: keep shelves, displays, milk boxes, freezers, dip cabinets presentable, ensure rotation and check dates.
- Security: monitor guests to reduce shop‑lift and drive‑offs, control cash levels via proper procedures.
- Maintenance: keep store and parking lot safe, clean, organized; monitor equipment temperatures.
- Reporting: complete time records and Customer First Document accurately.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Speak, hear and understand English effectively.
- See well enough to use store equipment (POS, gas console, etc.).
- Understand and operate store equipment and procedures.
- Prepare Dip Side items using dip cabinet supplies.
- Handle coins, currency, checks, credit, coupons, food stamps, and accurately make change.
- Recognize numbers, count, and do arithmetic sufficiently for record‑keeping.
- Move merchandise from storage to shelves, displays, freezers or milk box.
- Clean counters and other surfaces.
- Tolerate extreme temperatures (–30°F for at least 2 minutes, +33°F for at least 10 minutes).
- Raise at least 10 pounds from floor level to 5 feet.
- Place an 8” x 10” x 10” package weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet 3 feet above floor.
