Lindner Center of HOPE is a nationally renowned psychiatric center of excellence located in Mason, Ohio, committed to providing state‑of‑the‑art care to patients at all levels of care. We continue to expand our services and are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant candidate to provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations. Facilitate the delivery of care for inpatient and outpatient situations and perform independently or as part of a treatment team.
This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to academic excellence in research and clinical care.
- Implements advanced practice through the provision of direct care.
- Obtains a complete physical & history for patients admitted to the inpatient and residential units.
- Interprets laboratory tests.
- Develops & implements plan for the management of acute & episodic problems including disease management, counseling, health promotion & maintenance, & treatment interventions consistent with practice standards.
- Provides consultation as requested by primary psychiatric team.
- Recommends and/or prescribes medication within scope of practice.
- Performs review of systems with emphasis on acute and episodic health issues.
- Determines when patients need to be transferred to higher level of care and communicates with accepting provider at outside hospital.
- Coordinates timely and effective communication with emergency departments or other external providers when a patient has been evaluated outside the Center. Ensures clinical updates, treatment recommendations, and readiness for return are clearly conveyed to facilitate safe and appropriate continuity of care. Confirms acceptance and necessary arrangements prior to patient transfer back to the Center.
- Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Serves as a resource for all other members of the interdisciplinary team related to provision of care.
- Works closely with collaborating physician, psychiatrist, psychiatric APRN, RN, and other staff to provide best treatment to patients.
- Accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Utilizes their collaborator or supervisor for issues out of their scope/knowledge level.
- Performs related duties based on departmental need.
Nurse Practitioner:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
- Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority
- Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio with an active license with no restrictions. Certificate of authority from the State of Ohio Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist
- Three (3) years nursing experience.
- Family, Adult‑Gerontology, or Emergency certification with previous practice in a hospital setting (internal medicine, family medicine) or emergency department/urgent care setting.
Additional Qualifications Considered:
- Experience working with patients with psychiatric diagnoses, including eating disorders, a plus.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑specific and developmentally appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
- CPR Certification
Physician Assistant:
- Master’s Degree from a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC‑PA) or its predecessor agencies.
- Three (3) years PA experience
- Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and current/valid license in the state of Ohio prior to start.
