The Cardiac Medical Stepdown/6 South unit is a 28‑bed unit specializing in the recovery of patients following vascular and electrophysiology procedures. It also provides care to patients with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, syncope, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure. All nurses are ACLS certified and have completed an ECG interpretation course. This unit offers titration of multiple intravenous medications and conscious sedation for cardioversions, and is ideal for nurses interested in transitioning to an ICU setting.

• 2+ years stepdown experience, experience with cardiac drips (amiodarone, Lasix, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, milrinone, etc.) and must know how to interpret heart rhythms

• Experience with VAD, care of post‑open heart, cath, vascular surgery, and cardiac patients
