Registered Nurse (RN-CN1), Neuro Specialty Surgery-5 East, Part Time, Night, ONA

UC Health is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro Spine Specialty department for the Night shift at UC Medical Center.

The unit focuses on Neuro‑Spine, including spinal decompression surgeries such as laminectomies, microdiscectomies, spinal fusions, spinal reconstruction, and cervical spine surgeries.

Cincinnati, OH, United States.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Associate’s Degree, the minimum required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current OH RN License.
  • Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, implement, evaluate, revise, and coordinate interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient.
  • Communicate plan of care to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care and demonstrate the ability to establish priorities based on the patient's assessment and needs.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment and involve family/guardian in assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs, or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.
  • Accurately and concisely document the nursing process, including evaluation of treatment, in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.
  • Act as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.
  • Assume responsibility for personal and professional development and contribute to the professional development of peers.
