Position Purpose

The Care Team Nurse Manager for Memory Support and Residential Living provides leadership and oversight of clinical and operational functions within the assisted living memory support and residential living households. Additionally, the Care Team Nurse Manager oversees the dementia care program and ensures a supportive, compliant, and compassionate environment for residents and team members.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Possesses, at a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN diploma program and possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the State of Ohio.
  • Two years of experience as a supervisor and/or clinical manager in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
  • Memory care experience strongly preferred.
  • Preferably certified in gerontological nursing; specialized training or experience in geriatric nursing and dementia care is desirable.
  • Is knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
  • Knowledge and experience with person‑centered principles preferred.
  • Is able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language and is able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Possesses a demonstrated ability to display leadership during a crisis and to handle crisis situations in a calm manner.
  • Possesses leadership and supervisory ability and is able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
  • Is able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, residents, family members, support agencies, and government agencies/personnel.
  • Has patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, and is willing to handle difficult residents and relate to ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the Community.
  • Is able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Is able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, team members, and support agencies.
  • Assists in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • Must be fully up‑to‑date with required vaccinations.
What You Can Expect as a Care Team Manager
  • Develops and maintains a quality work team. Responsible for proper hiring, orientation, training, supervision, clinical competency, coaching, counselling and performance appraisals with team members and ensuring those are maintained in a manner supportive of team and professional standards of practice.
  • Provides supervision for nursing care in assisted living memory support and residential living areas. Provides direct nursing care as necessary and is on call after hours during weekdays and weekends. Also serves in Manager on Duty weekend rotation.
  • Delegates, conducts, and oversees health assessments for residents as needed and on an ongoing basis and in accordance with regulatory requirements, promoting health and wellness. Maintains updated clinical information utilizing the electronic medical record system.
