Job SummaryOversee the daily operations of one or more nursing departments, including daily operations, program planning, financial planning and budget oversight, quality improvement, patient care quality, and staff supervision/development in accordance with professional, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Operations ManagementOversee 24/7 department operations, facilitate compliance with all professional, local, state, national, and Joint Commission standards; ensure customer satisfaction; develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards of care; represent the department at meetings; collaborate with leadership on program plans; assume technical responsibilities as needed.
Financial ManagementCollaborate with finance and site leadership to prepare annual operating and capital budgets aligned with strategic initiatives; manage services within budgetary guidelines; ensure appropriate revenue capture; inventory equipment and supplies; maintain knowledge of regulatory guidelines.
HR Leadership & Staff DevelopmentProvide leadership in a collaborative, empowering environment; recruit, hire, orient, and train staff; maintain staffing levels aligned with patient needs; conduct performance appraisals; communicate job standards and expectations; lead regular staff meetings and foster effective communication.
Performance ImprovementDevelop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance / performance improvement program; educate staff on customer service and outcomes; incorporate rounding into routine activities; maintain equipment safety; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes.
Education and Credentials- BSN required;
Master’s preferred. - Hold national certification in clinical specialty or leadership within 6 months of eligibility.
- Three years of demonstrated leadership experience (charge nurse, preceptor, etc.).
- Preferred:
Five years of clinical nursing experience; one year of previous management experience.
