- 1+ years of experience as an RN in a detox or similar treatment facility environment strongly preferred
- State RN license in good standing
- Current CPR certification
- Psychiatric Nursing experience required
- Experienced in administering medication orally, subcutaneously, and IM
- Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of withdrawal pain and of a critically dangerous medical emergency and respond appropriately
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Able to respond physically with swiftness to a patient emergency
- Able to respond calmly and timely during an emergency or potential emergency situation
- Familiarity with ASAM criteria preferred
- Familiarity with JCAHO Standards of Care for Behavioral Health
- Electronic Health Record experience
- Guide patients through their detox process per physician's orders
- Educate patients about their conditions and assist the physician and ARNP with accurate clinical reporting
- Perform nursing assessments at intake and necessary discharge nursing actions, and routine reports for insurance patients
- Properly administer, reconcile, store, and secure all medications
- Administer prescribed medications as per medical team
- Make independent decisions within scope of license involving patient care
- Use sound judgment to inform leadership of all decisions and when/how they should be communicated
- Monitor and record all aspects of patient care through the Electronic Health System
- Follow universal infection control precautions using personal protective equipment as required
- Reconcile medication at end of each shift, maintaining logs of controlled substances in accordance with regulation and state law
- Ensure proper handover during shift change, providing necessary information to continue high standards of care
