Job Description
OverviewThe 4100 Telemetry Unit at Bethesda North Hospital is a 38-bed stroke-certified unit specializing in care for patients with complex cardiovascular and neurovascular conditions. As part of the Tri Health system, the unit supports arrhythmias, heart failure (with an upcoming LVAD program), and procedures such as pre/post cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology interventions, and structural heart procedures including WATCHMAN and Mitra Clip. The unit focuses on chronic heart conditions and provides care for NSTEMI patients, heart failure management, and post-procedural recovery, with emphasis on advanced electrophysiology and devices such as pacemakers, ablations, and defibrillators.
The unit collaborates closely with ICUs and offers opportunities to grow in Critical Care.

Job OverviewThis position applies the nursing process in providing direct and indirect holistic care to patients and their families. The position also collaborates with physicians and other health care team members in meeting patient needs. This role may delegate certain aspects of care to team members under supervision, within the scope of nursing practice.
Job Requirements- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire
- BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)
- Registered Nurse
- Knowledge, judgment, and skills from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various life stages
- Membership in related professional organizations
- RNs with more than 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time acute care experience
- Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family; document assessments per unit/Tri Health guidelines; communicate findings to other health care providers; include health counseling and teaching needs in assessment.
- Plan care for patient and family based on assessment and standards of care; initiate and individualize care plans or clinical pathways; update plans based on patient/family input and health needs; develop short- and long-term goals with patient/family and health care team; communicate plan of care to others; discharge planning as appropriate.
- Provide a safe, therapeutic environment that respects patient autonomy, dignity, and rights; seek resources for ethical decisions; balance unit priorities with patient needs; recognize emergencies and document accordingly.
- Trains/educates other staff and acts as an expert resource in the specialty; ensure effective communication of physician orders; evaluate plan of care and revise as needed in collaboration with patient/family and health care team.
- Supervise care delegated to other health care team members; perform technical skills according to policy and procedure; safely administer medications/treatments and monitor effects; use equipment safely.
- Demonstrate organizational responsibilities: identify areas for self-improvement, participate in relief charge/resource roles, support student learning, stay current in practice, and adapt to organizational changes.
