Summary

Develop and execute a girl and adult membership retention plan in assigned communities to achieve annual membership and renewal goals. Increase Girl Scout visibility and engagement in the community through community networking and collaboration. This role is focused on retention and member renewal, and acts as the go-to partner for new and returning volunteers in the assigned service area, offering personalized coaching, resources and support to help them feel confident, connected and successful.

This role works in close partnership with the recruitment team to ensure ongoing engagement through a high-quality experience that inspires continued involvement. The role is located within the south Cincinnati region and supports service units in:
Anderson, Hyde Park, Oakley, Brown County, Kings Mills, Bethel, Felicity and New Richmond.

Responsibilities
  • Drive membership growth in assigned communities by developing and implementing comprehensive retention plans for girls and adults in troops, including volunteer education, modeling troop leadership, and ensuring programmatic activities for girls.
  • Analyze membership gaps throughout the year and adjust plans to meet goals by grade level and demographic targets.
  • Recruit, train and provide ongoing support to administrative volunteers to increase the functioning level of assigned communities.
  • Implement components of volunteer program management with troop leaders and administrative volunteers to ensure they are prepared to deliver the Girl Scout program, providing excellent support and customer service.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive community plan in partnership with administrative volunteers to engage and prepare volunteers, caregivers and community organizations to provide a high-quality progressive Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
  • Provide support to council strategic initiatives including recruitment, product program, outreach and outdoor program/camp.

Position Details

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The days of work are primarily Monday through Friday, with evening work frequent and occasional weekend work may be required. Hours vary depending on support needed by service units and time of year. Work schedules are flexible but approximately 40-45 hours/week depending on season.

Travel

This is an in-the-field position requiring regular travel to assigned geographic areas of the council.

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Experience recruiting and managing volunteers.
  • Experience in recruitment and/or sales preferred.
  • Experience in community outreach or development including school partnerships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation & Benefits
