Gamble of Procter & Gamble in 1924, City Gospel Mission has served the Cincinnati community for 101 years by helping homeless and vulnerable individuals break the cycle of poverty. Programs include food & shelter, recovery, job readiness, and youth mentoring. The organization partners with over 350 churches and 2,500 volunteers to serve more than 6,800 adults and 3,500 youth annually.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the President, the VP of Development leads fundraising and development strategy, ensuring revenue targets support the mission. This role includes oversight of:
- Development strategy and donor engagement
- Marketing and brand recognition
- Volunteer and partner coordination
- Budget and financial planning for fundraising activities
- Team leadership of 12 staff across advancement, donor data, grant writing, marketing, events, and executive support
- Collaborate with the CGM Leadership Team to align fundraising with organizational goals.
- Develop the vision, strategy, and fiscal year budget for all development work.
- Partner with the President to forecast income and set campaign targets.
- Create and review strategic fundraising plans with internal departments.
- Foster a positive culture through coaching, mentorship, and HR collaboration.
- Manage suppliers and partners, evaluating performance against goals.
- Nonprofit fundraising leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven ability to lead and grow teams.
- Proficiency with CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or Virtuous.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship‑building to advance the mission.
