Responsible to operate converting bag machines in a safe manner and produce quality product with minimal scrap, meet production schedules, and keep the work area clean.
Primary Duties- Perform timely and thorough quality checks throughout the shift and record them on your shift report. Packer/Inspectors are required to perform quality checks every ½ hour.
- Perform any light maintenance that is needed on machine and communicate major issues to supervisor/lead person.
- Run and catch on a machine or run 2-3 machines with help of an assistant.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 2-year product (plastics) or industry-specific (converting) machine experience is highly preferred
- Minimum 2-year manufacturing experience is required
- Job stability: minimum 1 job in last 2 years or 2 jobs in last 5 years
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong math and measurement skills
- Ability to work well in a team and as an independent contributor
- Run Equipment: run a paper bag machine with help of a packer, perform light maintenance on assigned machine, and communicate any major issues to supervisor/lead.
- Follow Instructions: read, understand and follow all work instructions to produce product that meets standards (production, scrap and quality).
- Ensure Compliance: ensure departmental compliance with all certification requirements and maintain good housekeeping practices in accordance with AIB/ISO standards. Maintain quality of products being produced at or above the required specifications.
