Responsible for leading and overseeing daily operations within an ISO-certified manufacturing facility. Provides direct supervision to production personnel, including employees who are blind or visually impaired. Accountable for meeting production schedules, maintaining product quality, supporting workforce development, and promoting a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Production Leadership and Execution
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities, ensuring production schedules, customer delivery requirements, and quality standards are met.
- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Report and address safety concerns, incidents, and near misses promptly.
- Monitor production performance, staffing levels, and workflow, adjusting assignments as necessary to meet operational goals.
- Ensure production processes are followed in accordance with established work instructions, quality standards, and ISO procedures.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production and workflow issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address equipment issues impacting production.
- Provide direct supervision and daily direction to production employees in a unionized environment.
- Foster a respectful, inclusive workplace that supports employees.
- Facilitate training, coach, and mentor team members to improve performance, productivity, and job proficiency.
- Administer and enforce company policies, safety procedures, and work rules in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Promote employee engagement, accountability, and teamwork.
- Ensure all production activities comply with ISO 9001 quality management system requirements and documented procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, and traceability requirements.
- Monitor production output to ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards.
- Support internal and external ISO audits and ensure adherence to corrective and preventive actions.
- Reinforce quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives across the production team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience, or equivalent education. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production deadlines.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing safety practices and quality standards.
