Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced woodworker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and materials, with a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship. You will be responsible for creating high-quality custom wood products, working on various projects from start to finish, and ensuring they meet our quality standards.
- Design, cut, shape, and assemble wood components to create custom furniture, cabinetry, or other wood products based on specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently (saws, sanders, routers, joiners, shapers, etc.).
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical plans.
- Select appropriate materials (e.g., wood species) for projects.
- Ensure accuracy in measurements, cuts, and finishes.
- Perform finishing work such as sanding, staining, and varnishing.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure precision and adherence to client specifications.
- Repair or restore damaged or aging wood products when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Collaborate with team members, designers, and clients to ensure project goals are met.
- Minimum 2 years of woodworking experience in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in operating various woodworking tools and machinery.
- Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and designs.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
- Experience with finishing techniques (e.g., staining, painting, varnishing) is a plus.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery or CAD design software is an advantage but not required.
- Experience in custom furniture making, cabinetry, or millwork.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for woodworking and a dedication to producing high-quality work.
- Full-time position with potential for overtime based on project deadlines.
- Work is performed in a workshop setting, with exposure to wood dust, loud machinery, and the use of protective gear.
