Job SummaryThe Inserter Operator understands production and can set up and operate all inserting equipment, is accountable for the efficient operation of equipment, and the quality of the finished product.
Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday‑Friday 2:30 pm–11:00 pm; 40 hours per week.
Essential Functions- Operate envelope inserters and sort mail.
- Maintain quality and production standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Set up, operate, and adjust equipment to meet established production standards regularly.
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously effectively and efficiently.
- Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions.
- Continuously monitor the quality of the finished product according to established QC guidelines.
- Ensure the work area is free of hazards and clean of debris.
- Follow all required safety procedures and communicate safety concerns to the department manager.
- Complete paperwork to assure proper job counts along with job trackability.
- Responsible for accurate timekeeping and data collection through a computer system.
- Involve the Department Supervisor and/or Department Manager whenever concerns exist regarding quality, schedules, delays, etc.
- Read and understand the job work order for instructions and specifications specific to the manufacturing of a job, and produce all jobs according to the specifications and instructions within the work order.
- Approve setups and make them ready before the jobs are produced.
- Perform reasonable repairs and maintenance as needed.
- The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must have the necessary machine skills to effectively and efficiently operate all finishing equipment.
- Quality conscious and detail‑oriented.
- Preferably 2 years of direct experience, specifically on Flomaster Inserter, but any machine operator experience is a plus.
- Graphic Village is a detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven company with high expectations.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and carry out tasks to meet the instructions.
The work environment is a fast‑paced production environment. Employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and moderate to loud noise level.
Physical DemandsEmployees are required to stand for the full shift, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and may occasionally climb stairs. They must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/HoursThis is a full‑time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required depending on business necessity.
