Overview

An experienced Platform Engineer is needed to support and enhance enterprise-scale financial systems. This role requires strong expertise in mainframe technologies, proficiency with legacy programming languages such as COBOL or Assembler, and hands-on experience with system conversion initiatives. The ideal candidate excels at translating business needs into technical solutions, demonstrates exceptional analytical capabilities, and maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

* Analyze, document, and validate business requirements related to financial systems and operational processes.

* Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define functional specifications aligned with organizational objectives.

* Support and maintain mainframe-based applications, with a preference for experience in COBOL or Assembler.

* Lead or contribute to system conversion and migration efforts, ensuring data accuracy and operational continuity.

* Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for development and engineering teams.

* Conduct gap analyses and propose enhancements to improve system efficiency and performance.

* Perform thorough testing, validation, and quality assurance on system changes and enhancements.

* Develop and maintain detailed documentation covering requirements, workflows, and process designs.

* Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to facilitate effective communication and alignment.

Skills & Qualifications

* Strong understanding of financial or banking domain concepts, including core products such as deposits, loans, and payments.

* Hands-on experience with mainframe environments; proficiency in COBOL or Assembler is preferred.

* Demonstrated success in system conversions, migrations, or modernization initiatives.

* Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

* Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and interpret system architecture.

* Strong communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.

* Familiarity with SDLC methodologies, Agile practices, and software testing principles.
