We are seeking a skilled Setup Brake Press Operator to join our small metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a brake press machine using air bending techniques, ensuring accurate and precise metal part fabrication. This role also includes quality inspection and assisting in general labor throughout the shop.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and set up brake press machines for air bending metal components according to job specifications and blueprints.
- Interpret blueprints and determine tooling and bending order to complete part.
- Check dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure accuracy.
- Perform regular quality checks and adjustments to maintain production standards.
- Assist with general shop labor, including material handling, part preparation, and machine maintenance as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality expectations.
- Previous experience operating a brake press or similar metal fabrication equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with air bending techniques and basic metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills for scanning purposes.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to assist in various shop tasks as needed.
- $1,000 bonus upon successful completion of 60‑day probationary period.
