DESCRIPTION How Will You Make an Impact?

The Packaging Operator II is responsible for independently operating, troubleshooting, and supporting the setup, startup, and optimization of packaging equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. This role serves as an experienced operator on the packaging line, supporting production targets, mentoring less experienced operators, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. The Packaging Operator II plays a key role in identifying and resolving equipment, quality, and process issues to ensure efficient and compliant packaging operations.

Day in the Life:
  • Independently perform packaging line operations, including operating and monitoring equipment, in-process testing, filling, capping, labeling, cartoning, palletizing, equipment setup and cleanup, hopper filling, hand cartoning or packing, and other related duties as required.
  • Lead and support equipment setup, startups, changeovers, and cleanups to ensure efficient line performance and adherence to cGMP standards.
  • Monitor packaging equipment performance and apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to identify, resolve, and prevent operational issues.
  • Recognize, investigate, and address quality deviations, escalating issues as appropriate and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and compliant GMP documentation, including batch records and in-process testing results.
  • Assist in maintaining packaging line performance at or above established production rates.
  • Support breakdown investigations, minor repairs, and coordination with maintenance as needed.
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job support to less experienced operators to promote safe, consistent, and efficient operations.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
  • Required:

    Previous experience in manufacturing, operations, production, or a laboratory setting.
  • Preferred:
    Experience in pharmaceutical packaging or production.
  • Preferred:
    Experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong working knowledge of packaging equipment and production processes.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting proficiency.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and resolve operational and quality issues.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and quality standards.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions, SOPs, procedures, and technical diagrams.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to support training and knowledge-sharing among peers.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
  • Ability to operate a walk-behind forklift (walkie stacker).
