Material Handler
The Boston Beer Company is hiring an Inventory Control Specialist (SACB) for its Cincinnati, OH location. The role focuses on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of raw and packaging materials to the designated packaging areas, covering for the Receiving and Inventory Control Specialist, and supporting efficient operations across the brewery.
Responsibilities- Daily cycle counting of finished goods, raw, and packaging materials at all Boston Beer storage locations, eliminating inventory discrepancies.
- Support development and management of processes for incoming material receipts, including timely recording in SAP and proper documentation routing.
- Ensure incoming materials meet brewery quality specifications and maintain documentation for all materials.
- Back‑flush packaging materials against finished production orders.
- Coordinate with Planning, Brewing, Packaging, and Warehouse to keep required materials in-house for upcoming production runs.
- Liaise with Operations and Finance on RFIA requests and destructions related to obsolete/unused materials; act as a resource for all inventory process concerns including TTB audits.
- Develop and maintain inventory and receiving SOPs, providing continuous improvement recommendations and monitoring internal KPIs for inventory accuracy and adjustments.
- Create or adjust purchase orders in SAP to correct incoming discrepancies based on weight or quantity variances.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide process recommendations.
- Communicate with coworkers face‑to‑face, via brewery phone, or radio; adapt productively to change and handle other assigned tasks.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in inventory control or a related functional area.
- Knowledge of warehouse and distribution technologies and methods.
- Strong follow‑through, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly effective multitasker with a "get‑it‑done" attitude.
- Analytical problem‑solving ability, recognizing issues beyond documented processes.
- Computer proficiency with SAP and above‑average Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook).
- Proficiency or ability to become proficient in WMS utilization.
- Self‑starter, proactive, and capable of working unsupervised while meeting daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals.
- Strong leadership, motivational, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of advanced inventory control methods, planning, and technologies.
In accordance with pay transparency laws, the pay range for this role is $17.31–$36.54 per hour, depending on experience, skillset, and location. Full‑time Boston Beer coworkers receive generous benefits, including:
