Job Overview
Leads the strategy and execution of supply chain operations supporting safe, efficient, and reliable aircraft maintenance. Oversees material allocation, procurement, repair management, and distribution of aircraft parts and tooling. Evaluates departmental performance, identifies risks, and implements operational improvements. Manages supplier relationships and oversees supplier‑related activities.

Major Job Accountabilities Leadership & Department Oversight- Establish requirements for the Purchasing and Materials Management function, including staffing, systems, and processes.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and performance oversight for Technical Purchasing and Materials Management teams.
- Oversee warehouse and stores operations, including inventory control, binning, disbursement, shipping, receiving, and safeguarding of all aircraft materials.
- Ensure all aircraft parts and materials are purchased, handled, stored, distributed, and repaired in compliance with airworthiness and conformity standards.
- Maintain provisioning requirements for new and existing aircraft at various line and base maintenance locations.
- Conduct continuous reviews of materials usage and adjust provisioning models as needed.
- Direct procurement of aircraft parts and materials for both provisioning and restocking.
- Provide purchasing support for aircraft modification programs, discrepancy corrections, and special projects.
- Participate in vendor selection and coordinate vendor approvals with quality assurance teams.
- Oversee repair order management, warranty administration, and component exchange programs.
- Review and approve high‑value invoices for materials, repairs, and material loans/borrows.
- Serve as a member of the reliability and performance review board.
- Oversee tracking of borrowed, pooled, loaned, leased, and purchased materials, including associated logistics costs.
- Provide critical AOG (Aircraft on Ground) material support to minimize operational disruptions.
- Oversee procurement, storage, repair, calibration, and lifecycle management of tooling and maintenance support equipment.
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams on tooling needs and calibration standards.
- Support requirements of aircraft material pooling or shared inventory programs.
- Ensure compliance with internal manuals, audit requirements, and repair agreement obligations—including power‑by‑the‑hour and pooling arrangements.
- Develop SOPs and operational manuals for managing complex vendor relationships.
- Create and execute component obsolescence strategies to support long‑term operation of legacy fleets.
- Partner with procurement teams on sourcing strategies for materials and component repairs.
- Work with IT to develop a technology roadmap for supply chain systems.
- Oversee material services provided to affiliated fleet or cargo operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by executive leadership.
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree strongly preferred. - Minimum of 10 years of aviation or related industry experience.
- At least 10 years of materials management experience in commercial aviation.
- Experience managing multi‑million‑dollar budgets.
- Direct experience supporting widebody and/or large commercial aircraft fleets.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and multiple warehouse locations.
- Strong background in complex provisioning and allocation models.
- Proven leadership of large‑scale materials management operations.
- Experience with international vendor sourcing, management, and quality oversight.
- Demonstrated success establishing operational structures, processes, and systems within a technical operations environment.
- Proven ability to set department‑level strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- History of improving operational reliability and performance.
- Comfortable leading change with established workforce groups.
- Potential for progression into broader leadership roles.
- Strong leadership and team‑building capabilities.
- Strong business and financial acumen with ability to analyze impacts of material decisions.
- Highly structured, analytical, and disciplined approach to problem‑solving.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for operations support, vendor engagement, and onsite activities.
- Must hold a valid passport and meet requirements for international travel.
