LANDSCAPE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Location:

Based out of Main Garden Center 958 Ohio Pike

Reports To:

Owner

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Weekly

PTO:
Earn approximately 1 hour of paid time off for every 26 hours worked, up to 80 hours per year

POSITION PURPOSE

The Landscape Operations Manager is responsible for the management, execution, and growth of Plant World’s landscaping division. This role owns field operations, estimating, sales, crew leadership, and job performance.

This position is both an operations and sales leadership role and is accountable for job quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Field Operations & Crew Management
  • Schedule landscape crews, jobs, and equipment
  • Hire, train, coach, and discipline landscaping employees
  • Inspect job sites regularly
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to company standards
  • Maintain landscaping equipment and enforce proper use
Estimating & Sales
  • Meet with customers to assess project needs
  • Prepare accurate estimates and proposals
  • Present pricing, scope, and timelines clearly
  • Follow up on estimates to close jobs
  • Schedule sold work efficiently
Coordination & Communication
  • Coordinate plants and materials with the Nursery Manager and Garden Center Manager
  • Communicate job status and challenges to ownership
  • Address customer concerns during project execution
STAFF MEETINGS & TRAINING REQUIREMENT
  • Lead a required weekly Monday operations meeting and presentation
  • Meetings include:
    • Weekly schedule review
    • Crew assignments
    • Safety topics
    • Quality expectations
    • Lessons learned from previous jobs
    • Education

This meeting is a non-negotiable responsibility of the role.

AUTHORITY & DECISION-MAKING

The Landscape Operations Manager has final authority over:

  • Landscaping crew scheduling
  • Field employee supervision and discipline
  • Job execution and quality control
  • Estimating and selling landscape projects

  • High-quality completed jobs
  • Strong close rate on estimates
  • Efficient use of labor and equipment
  • On-time job completion
  • Positive customer feedback
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • $25.00 per hour, paid weekly
