• Manages Building Inspector Supervisors in performance of job duties and responsibilities.
• Develops and oversees the training of Building Inspectors and Building Inspector Supervisors.
• Develops and manages a system to verify and validate inspection records.
• Collaborates with the public and private sectors to assess the feasibility of proposed methods addressing operational challenges related to building codes.
• Represents the Chief Building Official at various meetings.

• High School diploma.
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial construction, building inspection, or code enforcement, including at least four (4) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity related to the essential functions of the position.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting only for the experience requirement above.
• Possession of an RLC certification issued by the Ohio Board of Building Standards, including applicable specializations (e.g., BI, MI, FPI, EPI/ENI).
• Out-of-state applicants:
  Candidates who hold equivalent certifications in another state at the time of appointment must obtain the required Ohio RLC certification within two (2) years of appointment.
• Valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency.
