Accounting Manager Leadership Role | Process Improvement Focus | Collaborative Finance Team
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a growing North American finance team. This position plays a key leadership role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, guiding the close process, and driving consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across financial reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, strengthening processes, and partnering across departments to support a dynamic organization.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the daily activities of the accounting function, ensuring accurate and efficient operations.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop team members while reinforcing internal policies and best practices.
- Coordinate and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Ensure financial reporting is completed accurately and in compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal guidelines.
- Monitor compliance with local tax requirements and support related filings and documentation.
- Serve as a primary liaison for external auditors and coordinate both statutory and group audit activities.
- Partner with outside advisors as needed on technical accounting or tax-related matters.
- Drive standardization and optimization of accounting workflows, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and controls.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between finance and operational teams.
- Lead or support special projects and initiatives focused on process improvement, system enhancements, and scalability.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger management, and compliance.
- Familiarity with international reporting standards (e.g., IFRS) is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in systems and process improvement; experience with ERP platforms (such as SAP or similar) is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
