Job Description

The Practice Manager (“PM”) has accountability for all aspects of the location business operations. As a team leader at a “people‑first” organization, the PM guides their team through development programs of coaching, mentoring, and performance management. The PM creates memorable experiences for each patient and is responsible for “keeping score” and driving top‑line sales, increasing margin, controlling payroll expenses, and improving profitability to meet company objectives.

  • Applies leadership, creative thinking, and analytical skills to improve individual practice performance and is an expert in solving operational issues.
  • Builds an effective team that works collaboratively to achieve results.
  • Addresses the practice’s unique strengths and challenges with objectives, strategies, and plans.
  • Establishes clear objectives for practice staff, communicates expectations with clarity, and sets high performance standards.
  • Sets the standard for a remarkable patient service experience utilizing the Acuity Way.
  • Identifies and selects top talent that matches AEG’s values and can recruit for long‑term sustainability.
  • Works closely with the District Manager to achieve and exceed the practice’s financial plans.
  • Learns quickly and adapts to new problems; works to find creative solutions.
  • Exhibits a relentless style to achieving results and developing others while sharing best practices within the AEG platform.
  • Adapts to change with an open mind.
  • Manipulates resources efficiently to accomplish tasks and deliver superior service.
  • Reviews daily sales, identifies gaps, and implements solutions to close those gaps.
  • Reinforces the practice’s selling strategy and the Acuity Way.
  • Protects the company through loss prevention.
  • Partners with Human Resources to ensure employees adhere to handbook guidelines.
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of professional experience with leadership responsibility.
  • Business degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Optician certification preferred.
