The GM will own the entire P&L, drive operational excellence, expand capacity, implement systems, elevate staff performance, and grow the business to $7–10M+ while improving profitability.

This is a leadership role for a candidate who has previously scaled a diesel/semi-truck repair shop
, understands heavy‑duty operations, and can build systems that run without owner dependency.

Key Objectives (First 12–24 Months) 1. Revenue Growth
  • Scale the business from $3.5M → $6–7M in the first year
  • Achieve $7–10M+ by year 2–3
  • Expand high‑margin services: diagnostics, DPF, mobile repair, mobile roadside, alignment, electrical
2. Profitability Improvement
  • Maintain minimum 20% EBITDA
  • Increase to 25–30%+ through pricing, parts margin, labor optimization
  • Improve technician productivity (billed hours)
3. Operational Efficiency
  • Reduce truck downtime
  • Improve throughput (more jobs completed per day)
  • Standardize processes across all repair categories
  • Implement segmented invoicing: parts / labor / diagnostics / mobile
4. Build a Scalable Organization
  • Recruit, train, and manage technicians and support staff
  • Create a repeatable operating system to open future locations
  • Build KPIs and dashboards for daily accountability
Responsibilities
1. Full P&L Leadership
  • Own financial results: revenue, gross margin, labor costs, parts costs, and net profit
  • Prepare weekly/monthly performance reports
  • Set pricing strategy and enforce margin discipline
  • Manage budget, forecasts, and cost controls
2. Operations & Process Optimization
  • Oversee all shop activities, workflow, and scheduling
  • Ensure efficient use of service bays, mechanics, and equipment
  • Improve job cycle time (intake → diagnosis → repair → invoicing)
  • Establish SLAs and enforce standards
3. Parts & Inventory Management
  • Optimize sourcing of aftermarket parts
  • Negotiate with suppliers for pricing and quality
  • Manage inventory levels to reduce waste and carry cost
  • Improve parts margin to target levels (25–35%)
4. Team Leadership & HR
  • Manage team of 12 employees
  • Recruit technicians, parts staff, service advisors
  • Conduct performance reviews and enforce accountability
  • Implement incentive programs tied to productivity and quality
5. Customer Experience & Retention
  • Maintain high satisfaction and repeat business
  • Improve communication with fleet customers
  • Reduce disputes by improving invoicing transparency
  • Create proactive maintenance packages and fleet contracts
6. Business Development & Growth
  • Build relationships with local trucking companies
  • Develop fleet maintenance programs
  • Expand mobile repair and roadside assistance
  • Prepare shop for a second location (after performance targets)
Required Qualifications Experience
  • 5–10+ years of leadership in a diesel, semi-truck, or heavy‑duty repair shop
  • Past experience scaling a repair shop from $2–5M → $6–10M+
  • Proven P&L responsibility for $3M+ operation

  • High competency in process building
  • Excellent leadership and team management
  • Negotiation skills with parts suppliers
  • Ability to enforce discipline and performance standards
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
