Performs unskilled manual labor as described below.
Examples Of Duties Performed- Cleans and fills swimming pools, marks ball diamonds, erects and makes minor repairs to playground equipment.
- Maintains grounds and walkways, and parking lots.
- Cleans shelters, opens facility for approved groups.
- Locks facilities after use, safeguards property and equipment.
- Sets up and takes down chairs and tables, and other equipment for group activities.
- Cleans snow from walks, steps and driveways.
- Drives a pickup truck and/or utility cart.
- Cuts and cares for grass and shrubbery, removes debris.
- Assist in tree removal; cleans floors, walls and equipment, loads, unloads, and transfers material.
- Scrubs, sweeps, and waxes floors.
- Cleans walls, windows, blinds and drapes and changes light bulbs.
- Assists in the set-up of athletic fields.
- Uses hand and power tools to break and remove paving and concrete materials.
- Operates equipment such as: weed eater, riding mowers hand blowers, and walk behind blowers.
- Spreads mulch, topsoil, and ball field clay.
- Moves furniture, loads and unloads material and supplies from trucks.
- Collects garbage and empty trash receptacles.
- Age 18 or older.
- Must have a valid Driver License.
- Must be willing to learn to operate equipment used to perform the duties of the classification.
- Must be willing to work shifts or irregular hours and weekends.
- Must have the ability to lift at least 60 lbs bags of sand, concrete, and marble dust.
- Must have the ability to lift/drag heavy equipment.
Military education and experience may be substituted for college level course work at the lower and upper division baccalaureate and graduate levels and apprenticeship training at the vocational certificate level on a case-by-case basis based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide recommendations.
Working and Physical ConditionsWorking environment is primarily outdoors. Exposure to various climate conditions, depending on season.
