Overview
The Communications Coordinator develops and manages high-quality content that supports the firm’s brand, communications strategies, and business development goals. This role requires exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills, with a focus on creating compelling materials for digital and print platforms. This includes developing, updating, and improving copy for a variety of firm communication assets. Firm deadlines, quick turnaround times, and fluctuating workloads are common for this position.

The successful applicant will be a member of UB Greensfelder’s Marketing/Business Development department, a team of professionals located in various firm office locations. This position reports to the Senior Communications Manager and regularly works with other marketing and business development team members.
Responsibilities- Conceptualize, write, edit, and proofread content for attorney bios, RFP responses, award/rankings submissions, and other marketing collateral.
- Collaborate and strategize with attorneys and marketing team members to translate complex legal concepts into clear, client-focused messaging.
- Develop and manage firm written content guidelines and ensure alignment with firm branding, tone, and AP Style standards.
- Manage content calendars and coordinate timely publication across channels.
- Maintain consistency and accuracy in messaging across all platforms.
- Optimize digital content for SEO to improve engagement.
- Assist with proposals, practice descriptions, marketing collateral, and other copy development/proofreading as needed.
- Assist with public relations and social media initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in content creation, preferably in a professional services or legal environment.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Experience writing and repurposing content for multiple channels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Expertise with AP Style guidelines.
- Familiarity with SEO and social media best practices and digital marketing trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CMS and social media platforms preferred.
