Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Growth Path to Tech Lead) — Integration Vertical Between Core Technology & ERP

This role is a hybrid position located in Cincinnati, OH. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who can be developed into a Tech Lead responsible for the vertical that connects our Core Technology systems to our ERP ecosystem
. This role is positioned as the technical owner of the integration layer that ensures seamless operation between our SaaS platform and the Infor ERP backbone.

This is a critical function within the Supply Chain organization, as the platform spans three major operational areas and deeply integrates with finance and accounting workflows. The environment tightly interfaces with the Infor ERP application
, requiring ongoing collaboration with the existing Core Technology Tech Lead
, who continues to own and govern the core platform services. This new role focuses specifically on the vertical that bridges those services with ERP-dependent functionality.

Role Purpose

Role

This position is designed for a strong senior engineer who can grow into a Tech Lead and provide the necessary governance, integration awareness, and oversight to safeguard system stability. Rather than heavy coding, the role emphasizes:

  • Architectural alignment between microservices and ERP dependencies
  • Oversight of changes impacting finance, accounting, supply chain, and operational integrations
  • Early intervention when code quality or system design introduces risk
  • Close coordination with the Core Technology Tech Lead, ensuring both verticals remain aligned
  • Ensuring the connected ecosystem scales successfully as more plants and processes come online

Hands-on development is still part of the role, but the primary responsibility is technical ownership of the integration vertical
, not ownership of Core Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical owner of the SaaS-to-ERP integration vertical, ensuring reliable and predictable system behavior across interconnected components.
  • Partner with the existing Core Tech Lead, ensuring safe and consistent extensions of the core platform into ERP workflows.
  • Evaluate and enforce architectural patterns that minimize downstream disruption to Infor and related financial systems.
  • Drive higher code quality standards, ensuring changes are coordinated, reviewed, and aligned with broader system strategy.
  • Facilitate technical decision-making across engineering, finance systems teams, and supply chain operations.
  • Provide guidance on API design, data flows, and system interactions across microservices and ERP extensions.
  • Support release governance by identifying risks in upcoming changes and ensuring mitigation strategies are in place.
Ideal Candidate
  • A senior engineer with ambitions to grow into a Tech Lead role.
  • Strong Experience with Java, Spring, Microservices, Kafka and Azure
  • Strong technical fundamentals and the ability to understand distributed systems, microservices, and complex integrations.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor or similar) is highly valuable for understanding the business data models and integration points.
  • Not required to have a manufacturing background; instead, must excel at understanding system interactions, integration risks, and cross-platform dependencies.
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on development with architectural and governance responsibilities.
