SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Research Database Developer to support an opportunity at the University of Cincinnati

Center for the Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills (C-STARS) Cincinnati is an Air Force Medical Service training platform partnered with the University of Cincinnati to provide advanced Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) training for DoD medics. 711 HPW/RH at the C-STARS Cincinnati, Ohio, Operating Location.

The employee shall provide comprehensive research and clinical database services, ensuring effective development, management, maintenance, and data management, and shall support database integrity and security across various formats, including REDCap. Much of this effort will require collaboration with the UC Information and Technology (IT) Office, which involves the UC IT infrastructure.

• Database Services: Development, management, and maintenance of research and clinical databases; data management to ensure accurate handling; support for database integrity and security to protect sensitive information.
• Data Integration Services: Development, maintenance, and validation of data integration processes; ensure data integrity throughout integration; support data analysis for research projects to facilitate insights.
• Database Formats: Work with formats including REDCap; handle data from medical devices and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
• Essential Job Functions: Ensure databases, applications, data systems, and data integrity processes are developed and maintained with high accuracy; complete development, integration, and maintenance tasks within time frames; comply with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory standards; conduct regular audits showing high data integrity and accuracy.
• Systems Development and Maintenance: Design and maintain research data systems (databases and applications); implement and manage REDCap and online databases; create/manage Microsoft Access and SQL databases for research data collection; design/maintain clinical databases and data collection systems; implement/manage electronic data capture (EDC) systems such as Medidata Rave.
• Data Integrity, Management, and Accessibility: Create, code, and maintain databases; conduct regular data audits; implement data management best practices; design data integration strategies; perform data mapping, transformation, and cleansing; monitor data flow across systems; utilize REDCap to collect/store/analyze data.
• Healthcare Medical Clinical Research Support: Apply knowledge of medical research methods; collaborate with researchers to understand data needs and provide appropriate database/data system solutions; support various clinical trials and research projects.
• Medical Device Data Handling: Download, convert, and manage data files from medical devices; integrate device data into research databases for analysis.
• Virtual Desktop Management: Create/manage virtual desktops to support research activities; ensure secure and performant environments.
• Programming and Scripting: Develop/maintain databases using Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Applications, SQL, and PERL; write/optimize ETL scripts; develop/maintain data systems using SQL, JavaScript, and C#.
• Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports based on clinical/medical/integrated research data; analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
