Join our Predictive Analytics team as a Principal Data Scientist and contribute to shaping and executing our AI/ML strategy. As a senior member of the AI/ML Predictive Analytics team, you will drive the development and deployment of advanced AI/ML models to accelerate business growth, inform strategic initiatives, and enhance decision-making. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify complex business problems, develop tailored solutions, and apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to drive business outcomes.

You will mentor junior team members and stay at the forefront of AI/ML trends to foster innovation and growth.

Purpose: Use data and statistical analysis to drive business decisions and target improved results across functional areas.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Lead development and execution of AI/ML strategy.
  • Develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain predictive models using Python, focusing on AI/ML techniques to drive business outcomes.
  • Utilize expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) for natural language processing and text analysis tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business problems and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Work with data engineering to design and implement data pipelines and architectures.
  • Prepare predictive analytics analyses and modeling with guidance on complex projects.
  • Present results to internal/external customers and management as requested.
  • Address loosely defined problems with creative approaches; contribute to projects yielding actionable insights to improve customer satisfaction, policy growth, retention, and profitability.
  • Complete data preparation, identify anomalies, and coordinate necessary adjustments.
  • Identify data and operational issues requiring specialized analytics attention, data scrubbing, and modeling techniques.
  • Document assumptions, results, and alternatives; communicate with regulators when needed for rate filings or modeling practices.
  • Create and maintain modeling best practices with internal/external partners.
  • Explain advanced analytic and modeling concepts to audiences without predictive analytics training.
  • Schedule and prioritize workload; maintain organization; perform technical peer reviews as needed.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal skills and professional communications to build relationships and understand insurance processes.
Qualifications Required Technical Skills
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python with libraries such as Num Py, pandas, scikit-learn; experience with R.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, NLP).
  • Experience with Databricks or similar big data platforms is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
  • Experience in an agile environment (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Strong commitment to testing, validation, and continuous improvement of models and workflows.
  • Experience with MLflow (model management, versioning, deployment).
