CDC works in close collaboration with the Cincinnati corporate community and City of Cincinnati to carry out its mission. With an annual operating budget of $20 million, the organization has a team of approximately 170 full-time staff and 180 part-time staff engaged in real estate development, real estate management, civic space management and programming and business district management.

CDC manages and programs six civic spaces – Fountain Square, Washington Park, Ziegler Park, Memorial Hall, Court Street Plazaand Imagination Alley. 3

The organization manages two special improvement districts – the Downtown Cincinnati Improvement District and Over-the-Rhine South Special Improvement District – providing clean and safe services, homeless outreach, beatificationeffortsand marketing support to both districts.
Job SummaryThe Human Resources Generalist is responsiblefora wide variety of Human Resourcesrelateddaily functions including hiring and interviewing candidates, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Primary responsibilities for this role includemaintainingthe employee lifecycle from recruitment to onboarding and offering benefit administration support.
This position does not directly supervise staff but may oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
Duties and Responsibilities- Reviews, tracks, anddocumentscompliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Recruits, interviews, andfacilitatesthe hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, as well as collaborating with department hiring managers to proactivelyidentifyfuture hiring needs.
- Conducts background checks and employee eligibilityverifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasksrequiredto administer and execute human resource programs including, but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters,dispute sand investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handlesemployment-relatedinquiresfrom applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HRteam member.
Attends andparticipatesin employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. - Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices tomaintaincompliance.
- Support andassistemployees with access tothe current
HRIS system,Paycor. - Occasionalsupportto cover front desk duties.
- Administrative support for HR and other staff members.
