Position OverviewThe HR Generalist will support the organization’s people operations, ensuring staff and volunteers feel supported, equipped, and connected to the mission. This role blends recruitment, onboarding, HR operations, compliance, and employee support.
The ideal candidate is relationship-oriented, detail-driven, and energized by building strong people systems in a mission-based environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate coordination, interviews, and onboarding
- Design onboarding experiences that set new hires and volunteers up for success
- Partner with leadership to support values-driven hiring and workforce planning
- Maintain HR systems and records, including payroll updates, benefits administration, and compliance documentation
- Support HR policies, performance feedback processes, and employee development
- Serve as a trusted and confidential HR resource for staff
- Help foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture
- 5+ years of HR experience (3+ years in a generalist role preferred)
- Solid understanding of HR laws, compliance, and best practices
- Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
Strong communication and organizational skills - Ability to work independently within a small, collaborative team
- High level of integrity, discretion, and emotional intelligence
- Nonprofit or youth-serving organization experience is a plus.
