Overview
Pride Health is hiring a Histotechnician II to support our client’s medical facility based in Cincinnati
. OH 45229 is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Duration: 3 Months
Schedule: 3rd shift / 9pm-5:30am Monday–Friday
Note:
Pay rate is based on years of experience and educational qualifications.
- Embeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory.
- Performs quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records.
- Operates all instruments/equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies instrument/equipment problems.
- Meets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section.
- Recognizes testing errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution.
- Records, transcribes, and maintains records of patient test results according to protocol.
- Assists other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results.
- Reviews accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System.
- Completes routine and STAT testing within acceptable turnaround time guidelines.
- Associate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science.
- Formal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours).
- State licensure, where applicable (CA, FL, NY require licensing).
- Meets CLIA personnel standard criteria.
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience required.
- Skills in microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting and routine special staining techniques.
