Position: Psychiatric Mental Health Provider (APRN/PA)

Overview

Psychiatric Mental Health Provider - Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Provider to deliver high-quality psychiatric services to children and adolescents. This role focuses on psychiatric assessments, evaluations, medication management, and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary environment. The Psychiatric Mental Health Provider ensures clinical excellence while supporting patients, families, and internal/external partners.

Minimum Requirements
  • For APRN Candidates
    • Licensed APRN in Ohio (PMHNP - BC preferred)
    • Board certified in psychiatric/mental health
    • Experience working with children/adolescents in psychiatric settings
    • DEA license
  • For PA Candidates
    • Licensed PA-C in Ohio; board-certified
    • Minimum two years of psychiatric experience with children/adolescents
    • DEA license
Primary Responsibilities
  • Direct Client Service
    • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop diagnostic and treatment plans.
    • Monitor and triage patients receiving psychiatric services using clinical tools and scales.
    • Build strong practitioner–patient relationships and support parents/guardians as needed.
    • Educate patients, families, staff, and stakeholders about symptoms, medications, and wellness.
    • Ensure integration of behavioral and physical healthcare.
    • Coordinate care within the healthcare system to ensure appropriate service levels.
    • Provide culturally competent care.
    • Maintain effective patient flow while meeting documentation and utilization standards.
  • Quality Assurance & Effectiveness
    • Meet departmental and program quality metrics while ensuring safe, effective care.
    • Adhere to performance standards set by the Medical Director, Practice Manager, and agency.
    • Participate in audits, evaluations, and performance reviews.
    • Follow industry best practices and protocols.
    • Monitor medication effectiveness and side effects.
    • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and data reporting.
  • Internal & External Collaboration
    • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and internal teams on patient care and scheduling.
    • Coordinate care with community healthcare partners.
    • Build and maintain relationships across the agency, assigned schools, and community settings.
    • Provide consultation, training, and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
  • Fiscal Responsibility
    • Deliver medically necessary services consistent with payer requirements and appropriate billing.
    • Meet productivity and documentation expectations.
    • Partner with the Practice Manager to support financial sustainability.
  • Administration
    • Obtain required medication management consents and provide education to parents/guardians.
    • Complete all documentation in the electronic medical record system in a timely manner.
    • Maintain thorough medical service documentation, including interventions and discharges.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay And Benefits
  • Pay based on license - between $105,000 and $125,000

Work Environment

Work occurs in office, school, and mental health treatment settings. Exposure to youth with behavioral challenges, including shouting or emotional distress.
