Vivarium Support Technician I – Cage Wash

Primary
Location:

- Cage Wash – cleans & sterilizes cages, equipment, supplies, rooms (primary and secondary enclosures), etc. Prepares refuse for disposal or incineration.
- Equipment Operation – Able to operate pressure washer and industrial cage washers, perform and document functions performed in the appropriate log, and clean and maintain all cages, automatic water lines, and other related equipment.
- Housekeeping – Completes daily and periodic housekeeping of assigned areas which may include bathrooms, locker rooms, and surgery spaces within the vivarium. Restocks and maintains appropriate inventory levels of supplies in assigned areas.
- Safety – Monitors first aid kits, eye wash stations and functioning emergency exit on cage wash equipment. Monitors & maintains washers & sterilizers in proper working condition.
- Supplies and Equipment – Delivers clean and/or dirty equipment and cages to and from cage wash as required. Maintains efficient organization & flow of supplies & equipment through cage wash area.
Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand the duration of shift, and perform repetitive physical activities such as pushing and pulling wheeled racks and carts, utilize a ladder or step stool, lift above shoulder level, reaching, stooping, and bending.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred:
Related experience working in supply chain, materials management or warehouse roles
