JOB OVERVIEW

Faculty Positions in the Advanced Leukemia Therapies and Research Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). We invite tenure-track applications for Assistant, Associate, or Professor levels. We seek outstanding scientists dedicated to advancing leukemia research and therapies, utilizing translational and clinical infrastructure to impact patient outcomes.

About the Center

The Advanced Leukemia Therapies and Research Center (ALTRC) within the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital integrates pediatric and adult programs with a focus on mechanistically driven, translational research. Our goal is to accelerate translation from lab to bedside through precision medicine. The center collaborates with the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute, the Division of Immunobiology (CCH), the Hematologic Malignancies Program (CCH), the Applied Gene and Cell Therapies Center (CCH), the Leukemia and Drug Development Laboratories (University of Cincinnati), and the Blood Cancer Healing Center (University of Cincinnati) to promote cross-disciplinary research and access robust translational infrastructure.

Candidate

Profile

We seek candidates with a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in biomedical sciences, focusing on myeloid malignancies. Ideal candidates will have a strong publication record and an innovative research plan. Applicants for Associate or Full Professor should have an established, extramurally funded program. Candidates should implement innovative approaches and paradigms to study basic biology, mechanisms, disease modeling, or translational aspects of myeloid malignancies.

Expertise in chemical biology, drug development, the microenvironment, or immuno-oncology is particularly desirable.

Job Responsibilities
  • Research, Teaching and/or Training: Conduct independent and collaborative research, participate in mentoring graduate students, post‑doctoral fellows, residents, and students, and contribute to research and teaching efforts within the division and department. Maintain currency in the field through continuing education and seminars.
  • Service and/or Administration: Lead program development and contribute to department initiatives, policy development, and leadership roles within the division, medical center, or university. Foster collaboration and guide strategic objectives aligned with division and center goals.
  • Scholarly Activity: Demonstrate ongoing scholarly activity, secure grants, develop new externally funded initiatives, and contribute to the advancement of clinical and translational research in myeloid malignancies.
Job Qualifications
  • PhD degree in a related scientific or research field
  • 3+ years related experience in research or laboratory activities, including data preparation for scientific meetings
  • Associate Professor appointment or eligibility required
