The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) provides essential care and support to residents in a healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living facility. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the STNA assists residents with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role is vital in promoting resident safety, dignity, and quality of life through compassionate and attentive care.###

* Key Responsibilities:

**
* ** Resident Care:**  + Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene.  + Help residents with mobility, including turning, positioning, transferring, and ambulating using assistive devices as needed.  + Feed residents or assist with meals, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and monitor food and fluid intake.  + Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions to the nursing staff.
* ** Vital Signs and Monitoring:**  + Measure and record residents' vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration, as directed by nursing staff.  + Assist with monitoring residents’ skin conditions, reporting any signs of skin breakdown or pressure sores.  + Assist with weight checks, intake and output monitoring, and other health-related measurements.
* ** Documentation:**  + Accurately document care provided and residents' responses to care in the facility’s electronic health record (EHR) or paper charts.  + Maintain records of residents' food and fluid intake, toileting habits, and other observations as required.  + Report any concerns or incidents to the supervising nurse and complete required documentation.
* ** Resident Safety and Comfort:**  + Ensure residents’ safety by adhering to facility protocols and infection control guidelines.  + Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and comfortable living environment for residents.  + Practice proper hand hygiene, use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, and follow all safety procedures.
* ** Emotional Support and Resident Interaction:**  + Provide compassionate care and emotional support to residents, engaging in conversation and offering comfort as needed.  + Respect residents' dignity, privacy, and personal preferences, and promote their independence wherever possible.  + Assist residents with social and recreational activities, encouraging participation to enhance their quality of life.

Collaboration:

**  + Work collaboratively with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents.  + Participate in care plan meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.  + Assist with transportation of residents to appointments, therapy sessions, or activities within the facility as needed.## Qualifications

* Education:

** High school diploma or equivalent required.
* ** Certification:
** Current and active State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.
* *
* Experience:

** Previous experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living setting is preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply.

* Skills:

**  + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.  + Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.  + Basic understanding of medical terminology and the ability to follow care instructions.  + Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.  + Proficiency in documenting care in electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.#LIONSTONE
