Equipment Specialist

Job Responsibilities

• Equipment and Supplies
  - Assemble or deliver adaptive equipment and related components. Perform cleaning and maintenance as necessary and directed. Suggest appropriate accessories and recommend design changes to meet the patient s special needs. Gather information, perform calculations and provide routine and non-routine repairs and maintenance of custom equipment, their components, and/or supplies.
• Customer Service
  - Interact with customers in a courteous, attentive and conscientious manner. Instruct patients, families and caregivers in the use and maintenance of prescription equipment and supplies. Make recommendations on the proper fitting and adaptations as necessary to meet the patient s special needs.
• Reporting
  - Provide routine and non-routine reports as required by Home Care policy and procedure.
• Performance Improvement
  - Perform quality and safety checks to ensure equipment or supplies are safe and meet desired standards. Develop knowledge and professional skills through cross training, literature and attendance at department meetings. Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for discussions.
• Fiscal Responsibility
  - Demonstrates an understanding of the cost management process, and the impact of this process on the department. Serve as a liaison with CSR s for charge entry. Possesses and maintains a comprehensive knowledge base of all Medicaid and third-party payers guidelines for reimbursement.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of work experience in the assembly AND maintenance of Home Medical/Rehabilitation Equipment
