What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Obtain authorizations from insurance companies for referrals to physicians and medical facilities
  • Schedule appointments for testing and consultations with physicians
  • Verify eligibility and coverage for referrals and testing via multiple communication methods
  • Investigate billing issues and communicate referral statuses to patients
  • Collect patient payments and manage billing inquiries
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a related medical field with experience in processing referrals
  • Proficient in data entry and managing patient and insurance information
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance representatives
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare setting

  • Experience with medical billing and coding
  • Familiarity with healthcare software and online billing systems
  • Knowledge of insurance authorization processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
