Position: Phlebotomist (Eastgate/Crestview)

Phlebotomist (Eastgate/Crestview)

Location:

Cincinnati Children's Office of Academic Affairs and Career Development, Eastgate Outpatient, KY.

Hours:

Monday–Friday 8:30 am–5:30 pm (some evening shifts may be required). Weekend rotations required.

Job Responsibilities >

Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point‑of‑care testing services and processing. Provide education and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition. Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.

Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs. Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred from, transferred to/from, or discharged from the home unit. Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed. Communicate courteously and conscientiously. Promptly attend to requests and concerns.

Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Proactively adjust style and effort to complement others. Build positive working relationships and a professional work environment.

Maintain currency in the field through continuing education, conferences, workshops, literature, and seminars. Attend all mandatory CCHMC training sessions. Apply gained knowledge to work and the organization. Participate in professional committees and activities.

Understand and comply with applicable policies, guidelines, regulations and accreditation standards. Document compliance. Maintain compliance with CCHMC Core Standards and the code of ethics. Ensure work areas are organized, safe and efficient for employees, patients and families.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of phlebotomy or relevant clinical laboratory specimen collection experience, or completion of a phlebotomy or medical assistant program.
Preferred:
Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification.
