DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician who is looking to give life in a hospital setting. You can make an exceptional difference in the lives of our patients and their families dealing with end‑stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. Responsibilities- Direct patient care: spend the majority of your day in one‑on‑one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
- Care for multiple patients during each shift.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording vitals, observing patients, and setting up the hemodialysis machine. Exposure to blood and needles is expected.
- Build long‑term relationships with patients suffering from end‑stage renal disease, who receive treatment on average three times per week. Educate patients on kidney dialysis topics. Work within a cross‑functional team of clinicians, including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, under the supervision of an RN.
- Desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Comfortable working around blood and needles.
- Comfortable mixing acid or bicarbonate solutions.
- Physical and mental ability to work long shifts (some 12+ hour days) on your feet; wear comfortable shoes.
- Willingness to train and work across multiple facilities within the territory as needed.
- Health care experience is a plus, including BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
