LeadMammography Technologist (Tech) – The Jewish Hospital
Job Summary
The Lead Mammography Technologist manages the imaging department by establishing hospital practices and procedures compliant with the Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program (MQSA) guidelines. This Lead Tech oversees MQSA inspections, American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditations, physicist surveys, technologist certifications, and patient education.
Essential Functions- Coordinate all daily hospital operations related to mammography services (e.g., scheduling, safety, patient care, and equipment maintenance).
- Perform all mammographic and breast imaging related procedures.
- Supervise Mammography Technologists and Students and maintain proper staffing levels.
- Demonstrate financial acumen to collect and analyze department data.
- Associate’s degree from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (preferred).
- Certification and Registration in Mammography, ARRT (required).
- State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care).
- 2 years of experience as a registered mammography technologist (required).
- 2 years of experience as a lead radiologic technologist (preferred).
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred).
- Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) (preferred).
