The mammography technologist performs imaging to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries under the direction of the Radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor.
This position is responsible for performing quality mammography procedures, maintaining accurate records and documenting in the EMR, maintaining a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members, quality assurance/quality control required for FDA/ACR, working effectively with patients and families to provide patient care, and ensuring the operation of mammography equipment.
Must have strong verbal and organizational skills and be able to interact with patients in a fast-paced environment. Travel to additional locations may be required. Mammography certification is required within 12 months of employment within this modality.
Job Requirements- Associate's Degree in Allied Health
- Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
- Radiologic Technologist, ARRT, State Licensure Certification in mammography required within 12 months of employment
- Provides for patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure.
- Maintains accurate records through the completion of all paperwork.
- Demonstrates the ability to consistently produce and evaluate screening and diagnostic mammography for radiological interpretation.
