Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders through polysomnography diagnostic and therapeutic services, sleep staging, event scoring, and patient education.
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, ensure cooperation, review clinical data, and operate equipment to obtain diagnostic recordings following established protocols.
- Write detailed, accurate technical reports to aid physicians in interpreting test data and review studies with physicians to clarify discrepancies, performing additional testing when necessary.
- Administer various neurodiagnostic procedures without direct supervision, monitor test quality, ensure sterile technique, and maintain a clean work area.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, receive payments, review charges, and assist with general office tasks.
- Demonstrate proficiency and remain current in the neurodiagnostic field by maintaining continuing education requirements.
Must be a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) and hold a current BLS certification.
