CFO; Fractional CFO​/Portfolio Management

Brixey and Meyer Capital, LLC (“BMC”) is a private investment firm targeting investments in lower middle market businesses across a range of industries. BMC has raised over $200M of committed capital and invested into 19 companies since their inception in 2015. Investments are approached with a growth and partnership mindset, with BMC providing strategic and operational support as well as continued access to capital.

BMC is seeking to add a CFO to the Portfolio Consulting team. As part of this team, the CFO reports to the CEO of each company primarily and a dotted line to BMC. The goal is to spread this cost and ensure higher quality and consistency across the portfolio.

• Will be a member of the Executive and EOS teams.
• Provide professionalization of accounting and finance processes.
• Provide overall financial management and analysis, banking/cash management, capital planning, forecasting and budgeting.
• Oversee and direct all aspects of accounting operations, including transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Responsible for management of Controller at each company.
• Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems, ensuring records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Analyze and develop costing strategies and metrics.
• Analyze financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets.
• Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
• Assist senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
• Coordinate, prepare, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Coordinate and/or prepare tax schedules, returns, and information.
• Assist in managing insurance providers and renewing insurance policies.
• Participate in exit readiness and M&A assessments and integration activities.
• Interact with Brixey & Meyer Capital to report on financials and updates as needed.
• Perform other finance and administrative duties as required.

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with 3+ years of management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage across multiple organizations.
• Experience working in a growing, multi-company or PE-backed environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and efficiently manage tasks and time.
• Strong management and leadership capability.

Work is performed in a fast-paced office setting, often with frequent interruptions. Duties may require sitting for long periods of time.

This position will be required to travel to portfolio company sites in various states and may need to drive a vehicle to some locations.
