Timber Bay Partners (Timber Bay) based in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a private equity firm focused on providing liquidity solutions for private equity sponsors. The firm was formed in 2016, and the partners have executed the strategy as a team since 2009. Collectively, the team has over 50 years of experience and has raised $725 million for this strategy. This Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be an important member of the team and is expected to be on site at the office in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
WHATYOU’LL BE DOING
As a member of the executive leadership team and reporting directly to the Managing Partner, the CFO has one direct report and is responsible for all non‑investment related financial activities including accounting and tax compliance for the firm’s active funds, GP entities and management company. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Manage relationships with outsourced service providers (audit, tax, compliance, legal, banking and fund administration) and provide oversight and coordination in the completion of quarterly and annual tasks.
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting for all entities including quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements, investor quarterly capital account statements and investor performance metrics.
- Oversee annual audit and tax compliance for all funds.
- Manage the process for the completion and distribution of Limited Partner communications including quarterly reports, annual audits, and tax information.
- Manage treasury functions, including credit lines. Monitor and manage cash for all funds and other entities including capital call and distribution activities.
- Perform other tasks including regulatory compliance, information technology, real estate, benefit design and implementation, oversight of time and expense allocations/reimbursement, cash controls and reconciliation, and maintenance of professional liability and other insurance coverage for the funds and management company.
- Special projects, as requested, including providing support to current and prospective Limited Partners on an as‑needed basis.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- MBA is a plus and CPA is preferred.
- 15+ years of senior‑level finance and accounting experience with knowledge and understanding of federal and state tax‑related issues for partnerships and other pass‑through entities.
- Demonstrated success in managing financial operations, ideally in a private equity environment.
- Strong understanding of fund accounting, corporate finance, GAAP, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent relationship building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
