Overview
As the finance leader for an expanding flagship manufacturing site, the Finance Director provides financial leadership, support, and guidance to key site-level stakeholders across all functional groups within a 1200 employee plant. The Finance Director is an impactful role that bridges gaps between manufacturing operations, commercial business, and corporate FP&A by identifying needs, developing solutions, and implementing processes aimed at maximizing plant performance.
A successful candidate will have progressive, manufacturing site-level FP&A experience gained from mid-large-sized pharmaceutical/CDMO/life science/medical device production environments with expertise in P&L management, cost systems, COGS, capex, financial modeling, case analysis, reporting automation, and financial presentations.
Responsibilities- Own annual budgeting and forecasting planning process
- Provide comprehensive analysis and insights in support of manufacturing site decision making
- Manage and explain site P&L, incorporating key business drivers, issues, risks, and recommendations into monthly commentaries and insights
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly/quarterly business reporting packages and dashboards, interpreting and communicating financial information around operating costs, labor, capex, inventory, reserves, obsolescence
- Partner with accounting on proper maintenance of costing, standards, COGS and align in the FP&A planning tool
- Implement budget controls and tracking mechanisms to ensure operational controls and financial metrics for manufacturing and capital
- Provide support for pricing, purchasing and other commercial initiatives, partnering with commercial FP&A to understand commercial deliverables, goals and pipeline
- Expand use of technology to bring efficiencies and self-service. Leverage existing and introduce new technologies to automate where possible.
- Lead scenario modeling and analyses to support leadership decision-making
- Influence and sustain a culture of financial accountability and decision making based upon business understanding and data analysis
- Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance. MBA or CMA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience gained from manufacturing site environments
- Experience building financial models and supporting manufacturing operations
- Demonstrated ability to successfully execute responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, collaborating across corporate functions and multiple stakeholders
- Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire experience
