Project Accounting Manager

We are looking for a Project Accounting Manager to join our Finance and Accounting team. This person will oversee daily project accounting activity, support strategic financial planning, and lead a team of project accountants. The role reports directly to the CFO.

• Oversee month end tasks and ensure accuracy across all project financials
• Partner closely with Operations on all project related financial needs
• Review job costs, cash flow, billings, budgets, and forecasts
• Lead monthly project recap meetings
• Ensure projects are forecasted correctly and remain in a positive cash flow position
• Maintain project structures including funding setup, billing setup, rates, and at risk items
• Improve financial processes for speed and accuracy
• Develop and mentor project accounting staff
• Support both internal teams and external partners with high quality financial service
• Help manage risk and support a culture of safety
• Lead special projects or corporate initiatives as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and seven or more years of related experience
• CPA and experience in construction or a similar industry is a plus
• Strong leadership skills and a track record of developing others
• Advanced analytical and problem solving ability
• Ability to understand contracts, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with a sophisticated audience
• High attention to detail and the ability to solve problems quickly
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Experience with Viewpoint is strongly preferred

This role is on site in Cincinnati and may require occasional visits to client offices or project sites.
