Retail Mortgage Loan Originator – Truist
Proactively market and sell Truist Mortgage Loan products while adhering to all bank policies and procedures. Drive consistent, effective referrals of mortgage clients to other bank services, qualifying package of services, and insurance products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Execute effective mortgage marketing and development plans to meet or exceed agreed upon mortgage production goals.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Mortgage Strategies, Policies and Procedures, as well as secondary market investor guidelines utilized by Truist.
- Fully comply with all Truist internal and external rules, regulations, and State and Federal laws.
- Provide clients with sound mortgage advice based on a full understanding of their needs and Truist Mortgage products and their benefits.
- Consistently execute Truist’s referral process by introducing mortgage clients to other bank solutions to deepen client opportunities.
- Assist Mortgage Loan Fulfillment with client, attorney, or appraiser document follow-up as determined through quality control or post‑closing review.
- Earn compensation solely on commissions based on the applicable standard commission rate and terms, which may include a salary draw.
- 1+ year(s) experience in banking and/or lending environment with basic knowledge of residential property types.
- Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Solid interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
- Must be SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act compliant within 30 days of employment, including new or transferred registration, and applicable NMLS acceptable background check.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, or related studies, or equivalent financial sales experience.
- Two or more years of residential mortgage lending experience with solid local market and regulations knowledge.
- Previous sales awards and leadership positions.
Job Requirements / Working Conditions

- Visual / Audio / Speaking – Able to access and interpret client information from the computer; hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.
- Manual Dexterity / Keyboarding – Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.
- Availability – Able to work all scheduled hours, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
- Travel – Up to 75%
